In short. The family owner can ask for everything to be deleted. Children's devices are un-paired straight away, you have seven days to change your mind, and then every record and file for the family is erased. The whole process completes within 30 days.
How to request deletion
By email: write to privacy@elphup.com from the Google account you sign in with, with the subject Delete my family. We reply within 3 working days to confirm the request and the date deletion will complete.
In the parent app: a "Delete family" option is being added to the Family screen. Until it appears, please use email.
Only the family owner — the parent who created the family — can request deletion. Other adults in the family can ask the owner, or ask us to remove just their own account.
What happens next
Every paired child device stops working immediately; the Elphup Kids app returns to its set-up screen.
For seven days the owner can cancel by replying to our confirmation email.
After that, an automatic routine erases the family. This runs daily, so erasure completes within about a week of the window closing and never later than 30 days from the request.
Every child profile and everything recorded for it: answers, mistakes, mastery, quests, points, scores, transcriptions of written work, reading scores, assignments, timetables and calendars.
Every file the family shared: photos and documents of school material.
What is kept
School notices and timetables that belong to a whole class stay available to the class, with the link to your family removed.
Server logs age out on their own within 30 days.
A one-line ledger entry records that an erasure happened and how many records it removed, identified by a one-way hash rather than any name or email.
Removing one child, or one adult
To remove a single child's data while keeping the family, or to remove an invited adult, email privacy@elphup.com from the owner's account and say which one. The same timelines apply.
